Jeffrey D. Eisenberg
Bio
Jeffrey began his career as a lawyer at a large firm that had corporate clients. In 1989, he had the opportunity to take a challenging injury case for a severely injured client and his family. Fighting for them and then seeing how their victory became a springboard for his clients to move forward with their lives inspired him. Jeffrey left his corporate firm to become a full-time plaintiff trial attorney.
During the three decades since, Jeffrey has handled and won some of the largest and most complex injury cases in Utah and in other state courts and federal courts. He has obtained seven and eight figure recoveries in more than 150 cases, including a precedent-setting Utah jury verdict of more than $16,000,000. Jeffrey is called the “lawyer lawyers choose.” For most of his career, Jeffrey’s cases were referred to his firm by other lawyers, law firms and judges. Many of his trial wins and settlements came in difficult product liability cases against large corporate defendants. Jeffrey served as lead counsel on several successful national projects involving product liability and corporate deception.
While winning big cases is what he does, what Jeffrey still loves most about being a trial lawyer is working with and helping his clients and their families. He uses his four decades of experience to help clients move through the legal process with dignity and without fear. He works with his legal team to shape a winning strategy for each case and works with the firm on all its upcoming trials.
More recently, Jeffrey’s parents required assisted living care during their last years. Jeffrey was inspired by this difficult experience to turn his practice to a new challenge: representing seniors and their families who had suffered needless injuries due to neglect, abuse and errors in elder care facilities.
Jeffrey’s firm started a practice group with a singular focus on elder care injury representation. Jeffrey’s firm is working in association with Senior Justice Law Firm and has created Utah’s first specialty practice group in elder care injury litigation. Recently, the firm has been developing this practice in several other western states. Jeffrey is the leader of the Elder Care Injury Practice Group.
Jeffrey is also passionate about teaching trial skills to other lawyers and helping public service non-profits. He has been Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Utah’s law school, instructor at several esteemed trial colleges and an invited speaker at more than 100 legal seminars. Jeffrey has served as President of the Board of the Brain Injury Alliance of Utah and as member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers and Sisters of Greater Salt Lake County, the Public Justice Foundation, O2 Utah and the Utah Association of Justice.
Over the past three decades, Jeffrey has received many legal awards from his peers in the law. Most recently, these include:
- Top 100 Lawyers in the Rocky Mountain States, Super Lawyers, 2021 and 2022.
- Lawyer of the Year---Best Lawyers, 2022.
Jeffrey was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates and has received Lifetime Awards for his service from the Utah Brain Injury Alliance and the Utah Association of Justice.
